The Polish shot-stopper has signed a contract with Barcelona until June 2025 after Ter Stegen was sidelined due to a severe knee injury.
The injury occurred during Barcelona’s La Liga match against Villarreal last month, where they secured a 5-1 victory.
Ter Stegen was stretchered off the field in tears, and medical evaluations later revealed a complete rupture of the patella tendon in his right knee.
The official statement from Barcelona read, “FC Barcelona and Wojciech Szczęsny have reached an agreement for the goalkeeper to join the Club until 30 June.”
