Chelsea have expressed interest in signing Bayern Munich winger Mathys Tel, amid the German club’s long-standing interest in their forward Christopher Nkunku.
The Blues, who first showed interest in Tel during the summer, have informed Bayern they are prepared to make an offer for the 19-year-old if he becomes available.

However, they have not included Nkunku in a potential swap, despite Bayern’s ongoing interest in the 27-year-old French international, who moved to Chelsea from RB Leipzig for £50m in 2023.
It remains uncertain whether Chelsea’s approach for Tel will be successful, considering the winger’s contract runs until 2029 at Bayern, and whether he would push for a move to Stamford Bridge.
Tel has started only two Bundesliga games under new Bayern manager Vincent Kompany, who took over from Burnley last summer.
Chelsea are also monitoring Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi, with potential plans to pursue him in the summer when the England defender will have one year left on his current contract.
Manager Enzo Maresca has praised Guehi’s abilities, while also indicating that Ben Chilwell, Carney Chukwuemeka, and Cesare Casadei could depart the club this month.
