Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic has agreed to join French Ligue 1 club RC Strasbourg on a season-long loan.

Petrovic, who made 31 appearances under Mauricio Pochettino last season, is moving on after Chelsea brought in Filip Jorgensen from Villarreal as his replacement last month, according to BBC Sport.

Before his move to Strasbourg, the 24-year-old signed a new contract with improved terms at Chelsea. Strasbourg is owned by BlueCo, the parent company of Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital.

Chelsea, who signed Petrovic from New England Revolution for £14 million last summer, view the loan move as beneficial for his long-term development.
