Cashin has been a target for Brighton for some time and was close to joining the Premier League club in the summer.
A product of Derby’s academy, Cashin hails from Mansfield and made his first-team debut in 2021. He has since racked up 144 appearances for the Rams.
Brighton’s head coach, Fabian Hurzeler, praised Cashin’s profile, saying, “He’s gained a lot of experience in the Championship, has a good profile, and as a left-sided defender, he will provide us with another strong defensive option.”
Cashin played a key role in Derby’s promotion back to the Championship, making 44 appearances last season as the club secured a return from League One.
