Liverpool have set their sights on Victor Osimhen as a potential replacement for Darwin Nunez, with the Reds preparing to enter the race for the Nigerian striker’s signature this summer.
According to Anfield Watch, incoming sporting directors Richard Hughes and Michael Edwards view the 26-year-old, currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, as the ideal candidate to replace Nunez, who is reportedly drawing interest from Saudi Arabia.

The report suggests that Edwards has been tracking Osimhen’s progress since his early European days in Belgium and France, with Liverpool’s recruitment team particularly impressed by his current form in Turkey, where he has netted 13 goals and registered five assists in just 16 appearances.
Osimhen’s future remains uncertain after a public dispute with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis, who recently expressed frustration at the striker’s decision to turn down a January move to Manchester United.
“Then let him stay where he is. Tell Galatasaray to take Osimhen,” De Laurentiis remarked after Osimhen rejected a potential swap deal involving Marcus Rashford.
With the Nigerian’s release clause set to drop from €120m to €75m this summer, a bidding war is expected, with Premier League rivals Arsenal and Manchester United also eyeing his services.
