Abubakar Ibrahim, an Abuja resident traveling to his home state of Kaduna, told reporters that around 11:40 am on Thursday that his vehicle had been stuck at the Gauraka junction for over two hours.
“I left Zuba town before 10 am, but we’ve been stuck here at Gauraka junction for about two hours. Protesting youths have blocked the highway.”
He reported that the gridlock extended several kilometers, covering the area between Aluminum Village and the nearby Zuma military barracks.
“There are a few policemen standing at a distance, but they can’t do anything about the roadblock as the number of youths is beyond their control.”
