EKO HOT BLOG reports that two former presidential campaign officials have called on Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi to withdraw their cases from the election petition tribunal and join President Bola Tinubu in his quest for a government of national unity.
Dr. Ene Ogbole, a former coordinator in the dissolved All Progressives Congress Campaign Council, made the appeal at a press conference in Abuja on Thursday.
She said that Tinubu’s government has proven to be transformational in nature and has the potential to reunite and reposition Nigeria for a breakthrough.
Cesnabmihilo Nihu-Aken’Ova, a former presidential aspirant of the Social Democratic Party, also joined her voice in making the same appeal. She said that it was clear that Tinubu won the election and that those going to court are wasting time.
Atiku’s camp has responded to the appeal by saying that they will continue to pursue their case in court. They believe that there were irregularities in the election and that they have a strong case.
The election petition tribunal is expected to deliver its ruling on Atiku’s case in the coming weeks.
In the meantime, the two former presidential campaign officials are calling on all aggrieved parties to join hands with the government to move Nigeria forward in a positive direction.
