Police Confirms The Arrest Of A Kano Man Who Locked 30-Year-Old Son In Car Garage For 7 Years

A tricycle driver identified as Mamuda Muhammed was found dead inside his vehicle on Friday morning around Kabusa Junction in Apo, Abuja.

Chairman of the tricycle operators union in the area, Yusuf Muhammed, told City News at the weekend that the deceased who hails from Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina State, was conveyed to his home town, where he was buried on same day

He said the late Muhammed was battling hypertension and that he might have died of it.

He said the deceased was found lifeless in his tricycle with head and hands on the ground while his legs hung inside the rickshaw, which he usually slept in.

“The previous day, the VIO had told us that we could operate between Kabusa and Galadimawa axis while avoiding the highway that leads to the Area One, which we agreed to.

Then the police stormed a location between these two areas impounding tricycles which they only released on bail after charging between N3000 to N5000 naira.

“The deceased closed from the business at night and it was in the early morning that he was found dead inside his tricycle which he used to sleep in. His legs were inside, while hands and head were on the ground with his mouth and nose bleeding,” the chairman added.

He said no one was allowed to touch the remains until the police at the Apo division were informed about it.

“On arrival, they took pictures of the body, and later wrote a statement which we used to convey it to his home town where he was buried,” he said.

When contacted, the Divisional Police Officer of Apo, CSP John Emega, confirmed the incident which he described as a natural death
