Despite initially featuring for the Dutch at the U-19 and U-20 levels, he later opted to pledge his allegiance to Nigeria. He earned six caps at the U-23 level before ascending to the Eagles.
He made his debut for Nigeria’s senior team on June 13, 2015, in an AFCON qualifying match against Chad, playing the full 90 minutes. Since then, he has accumulated 71 caps and scored seven goals for the national team.
