Trouble For APC As Over 2,000 Party Supporters Defect To PDP In Sokoto
Over 2000 members of the APC have defected to PDP in Sokoto.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Sokoto State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) lost no fewer than 2,343 supporters to another party on Thursday, November 17, ahead of the 2023 general elections.
The politicians have since pledged their allegiance to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The PDP governorship candidate in the state, Saidu Umar, while receiving the decampees during the inauguration of the Ubandoma/Sagir Mainiyo Old Market Development Association, charged them to deploy all their past experiences towards ensuring the victory of the party in the coming elections.
Umar in a statement made available to newsmen on Friday (today), assured the defectors that they would be carried along in all the activities of the party, especially as the campaigns had commenced.
Outlining his agenda on empowerment programmes, Umar said his administration, if elected, will provide opportunities for the youths and women in the state.
He commended the chairman of the association, Abdulrashid Maccido, for empowering men and women in the area and urged other business people in the party to emulate the gesture.
Accompanied at the event yesterday is the Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Abdullahi Maigwandu; Commissioner for Animal Health and Fisheries, Abdulqadir Junaidu; and the Commerce and Industry commissioner, Bashir Gidado.
