Trump Rallies in Miami Amid VP Speculation
Eko Hot Blog reports that Former President Donald Trump’s team is preparing for a potentially race-defining event: the announcement of his vice-presidential pick.
While the selection process remains shrouded in secrecy, speculation is mounting as the Republican convention in Milwaukee approaches later this month.
A rally scheduled for July 9 at Trump’s Doral resort in Miami has fueled rumors about a possible VP announcement.
However, sources familiar with the event planning insist the timing and location are coincidental. Nevertheless, the proximity to Florida Sen. Marco Rubio’s home has intensified predictions about Trump’s selection.
According to insiders, Rubio, Ohio Sen. JD Vance, and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum are currently at the top of Trump’s shortlist. Despite ongoing preparations, Trump’s advisers emphasize that the final decision on timing and location rests solely with the former president.
Trump spokesperson Brian Hughes stated, “As President Trump has said himself, the top criteria in selecting a Vice President is a strong leader who will make a great President for eight years after his next four-year term concludes.
But anyone telling you they know who or when President Trump will choose his VP is lying unless that person is named Donald J. Trump.”

Following President Joe Biden’s widely criticized debate performance, Trump’s team is reportedly reconsidering the option of waiting until the convention begins to announce his choice.
The former president has retreated to his Bedminster golf resort for the week, with no public appearances scheduled.
Meanwhile, the competition among potential VP candidates continues. Supporters of various contenders are highlighting strengths and pointing out perceived weaknesses of their rivals.
Rubio’s advocates have raised concerns about Burgum’s record on abortion, while Vance’s allies emphasize his ability to carry the MAGA message forward.
Some Trump confidantes suggest that the team may be preparing for the unlikely scenario of Biden exiting the race, which could influence VP considerations. As one insider put it, “I’d drag this out for two weeks. Let Biden twist.”
As the convention draws nearer, the political world watches closely for any signs of Trump’s decision, with the Miami rally potentially serving as a pivotal moment in the 2024 presidential race.
