Trump To Float New Party Ahead Of 2024 Election
Former U.S. President Donald Trump has given clue regarding his next line of action following loss of his re-election bid.
After a tumultuous presidential election that was mired in stupefying electioneering and spurious claim of fraud that culminated in the desecration of the congress, Trump has told his foot soldiers that he would be “back in some form”.
At a press briefing on Wednesday, Trump said that he would remain actively involved in the American politics.
“I’ll always fight for you; I’ll be watching, I’ll be listening,” Trump told his horde of supporters before leaving Washington for his home state Florida, ahead of Democrat President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration.
According to Wall Street Journal, Trump, who still enjoys massive following within the Republican Party, had begun moves to float a new political party.
Sources told the Journal that the billionaire businessman-turned-politician had already confided in his clutch of aides and associates on his decision to set up a new party christened the “Patriot Party,” all but clearing paths for a potential presidential bid in 2024.
Trump’s relationship with the Republican Party’s hierarchy has become frosty amid his alleged incitement of a rampaging mob action at the U.S. Capitol on January 6.
