Thomas Tuchel is set to observe his first round of club matches as England head coach this weekend, beginning with Tottenham’s Premier League clash against Newcastle on Saturday.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the 51-year-old German was announced as the Three Lions manager in October, succeeding Gareth Southgate, and officially assumed his duties on January 1.

Tuchel’s focus is now on preparing England for their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign, which kicks off on March 21 against Albania at Wembley.
Tottenham striker Dominic Solanke and midfielder James Maddison are expected to feature in Saturday’s game, while Newcastle could field defender Lewis Hall and winger Anthony Gordon — all players in contention for England selection.
Tuchel has also bolstered his backroom staff with three new appointments: goalkeeping coach Henrique Hilario, performance coach Nicolas Mayer, and analyst James Melbourne.
Hilario and Melbourne join from Chelsea, where they worked with Tuchel during his tenure at Stamford Bridge in 2021-22.
Mayer, a Frenchman, has a long-standing connection with Tuchel, having previously worked with him at Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich.
The trio will collaborate with assistant coach Anthony Barry, announced in October, and existing members of England’s senior coaching team.
