Eko Hot Blog reports that Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Tunji Alausa, has reiterated the commitment of the administration of President Bola Tinubu to fixing healthcare challenges in Nigeria.
He spoke at the recent commissioning ceremony of an upgraded Molecular Laboratory in Abuja.
The laboratory belongs to Zenith Medical and Kidney Centre (ZMKC), Abuja.
Dr. Alausa noted that the facility will further support Tinubu and the health ministry’s fourth agenda point, which is to look beyond physical health and focus on health in regards to social and national security.
According to the minister, non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are some of the major health concerns affecting Nigerians.
He stated that ZMKC’s upgraded molecular laboratory will help to better understand and tackle such diseases, thereby reducing their impact on Nigerians.
Dr. Alausa also commended medical centre’s chief, Dr Olatise Olekan, and his team for their commitment to improving health.
“Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are one of the major health concerns affecting Nigerians,” the minister said.
“Not only will ZMKC’s Molecular Laboratory help to better understand and tackle NCDs and other healthcare challenges.
“It further supports President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR and the Federal Ministry of Health’s fourth agenda point to look beyond physical health and focus on health in regards to social and national security.
“I’d like to congratulate Dr Olatise Olekan and his team again on their commitment to improving the health and well-being of our people.”
