Tunji Alausa Concludes Tour Of Healthcare Facilities In Lagos With These Promises

Eko Hot Blog reports that the Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Tunji Alausa, on Friday, concluded his three-day tour of healthcare facilities in Lagos State.

The last day of the tour took the minister to two prominent healthcare institutions, the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi, and the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Oshodi Annex.

During the visits, which were monitored by Eko Hot Blog, Dr. Alausa evaluated the facilities, identified areas for improvement, and offered solutions, including financial support, to address some of the challenges they face.

At the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi, the minister expressed his admiration for the hospital leadership’s efficient utilization of resources to enhance its operations.

He likened his visit to a homecoming and emphasized his commitment to meeting the needs of these healthcare institutions.

“When you get to your house, and your family members or kids tell you what they need, it becomes your responsibility. So, all your needs are my responsibility. I will diligently work towards fulfilling them, and while we may not achieve everything in the next six months, we are definitely on the path to success,” Dr. Alausa told the gathering.

Earlier, the orthopaedic hospital’s Medical Director, Dr. M.F Alimi, expressed his gratitude for the minister’s homecoming, acknowledging his previous role as the board chairman at the hospital.

Dr. Alimi elaborated on the progress achieved under Dr. Alausa’s leadership, highlighting the hospital’s improvements, ongoing challenges, and outlining their aspirations for further development.

He appealed to the minister for assistance in achieving their goals.

Later in the day, the minister visited the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Oshodi, stating that he and the coordinating minister, Dr. Ali Pate, would collaborate to ensure a comprehensive reformation of the healthcare sector.

He said their vision aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s aspirations for the citizens, aiming to ensure that the nation prospers in every sector, particularly healthcare.

Dr. Alausa affirmed his commitment to prioritizing the well-being of the citizens, believing in a brighter future for Nigeria’s healthcare system.

On his part, Dr. Owoeye, the Medical Director of the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Oshodi Annex, extended his appreciation for the minister’s visit.

He discussed the hospital’s achievements since its inception, emphasizing how they have managed to undertake numerous projects with limited resources.

The director expressed hope that the minister would lend support to their efforts, enabling the hospital to expand its services and provide better care to the community.
