Dr. Tunji Alausa confirmed Dr. Rufai Abdul Dachi as the acting Medical Director of FMC Misau.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that President Bola Tinubu has appointed Dr. Rufai Abdul Dachi as the new acting Medical Director for the Federal Medical Center (FMC) in Misau, Bauchi State.

The announcement was made by Dr. Tunji Alausa, Nigeria’s Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, who presented the letter of appointment to Dr. Dachi on Tuesday.

Dr. Alausa, in his address, expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for fulfilling his campaign promises, stating that Nigerians appreciate his commitment to improving healthcare.

He also thanked Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and announced that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Lagos State government will be signed in a few weeks, paving the way for the hospital to commence operations before the end of the year.

“The hospital will bring immense opportunities to the locality and its environs,” Dr. Alausa said.

He assured the ministry’s full support for the new directors and encouraged them to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Congratulating Dr. Dachi on his new role, Dr. Alausa reiterated President Tinubu’s dedication to enhancing all sectors, including healthcare.

He disclosed the Ministry’s plans to enroll over 100,000 nurses into nursing schools before the year’s end, with 64,000 already enrolled.

This initiative includes establishing a nursing school at FMC Misau, expected to significantly strengthen and improve the health sector.

Minister of State for Health speaking on the appointment stated that: “In alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which focuses on improving citizens’ access to meaningful and comprehensive healthcare, the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare has instructed FMC Misau to establish its own nursing school next year.

“This initiative will increase educational and career opportunities for the approximately two million residents of Bauchi and its surrounding states, addressing the brain drain crisis.

“I extend my gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering commitment to revamping the healthcare sector, and the Governor of Bauchi State, H.E. Sen. Bala Mohammed, for transferring Misau General Hospital to the Federal Government for conversion into a Federal Medical Center,”

“Congratulations once again to Dr. Dachi on his appointment.

“We at the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare are committed to providing all the necessary support needed to help succeed in your role and deliver tertiary care to Nigerians in Misau and its surrounding areas.”

Dr. Dachi, in his address, expressed his appreciation for President Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda, which has already made a substantial impact in the health sector.

He assured the Ministry of Health that he will not disappoint them, pledging to work tirelessly to deliver quality healthcare services to the people.

“I am deeply honored by this appointment and committed to fulfilling the trust placed in me,” Dr. Dachi said.

“I will work tirelessly to ensure that FMC Misau provides the highest standard of healthcare services to our community.”

Before his appointment, Dr. Dachi was the Deputy Chairman Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC), Clinical, at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi State.
