The defection of alleged loyalists of late Senator Buruji Kashamu, the strongman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun, to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has taken on a new dimension (APC).
The PDP denounced the defectors, calling them “political traders” who were “planting disaffection and disharmony” within the party’s ranks.
On Monday evening, former Director General of Kashamu’s Governorship Campaign Team, Aare Remilekun Bakare, former Commissioner for Special Duties during the administration of Otunba Gbenga Daniel, Chief Kola Sorinola, and a host of others from Abeokuta South, Obafemi Owode, and Abeokuta North Local Governments who were once loyal to Kashamu declared for APC.

However, Ogun PDP said the defectors were not party leaders or members of late Kashamu’s political family less than 24 hours after the defection.
