Twitter Explodes As Ronaldo Beats Pele’s Goals Record

Twitter users are currently setting the social media space ablaze in the wake of Cristiano Ronaldo’s record-breaking feat in Juventus’s 4-1 win against Udinese in their Serie A fixture on Sunday.

The Portuguese forward bagged a brace in last night’s encounter to take his career tally to 758 goals, leapfrogging Brazilian legend, Pele, who bagged 757 goals through the course of a distinguished career.

For much of the third millennium, Ronaldo has been locked in a perennial rivalry with Barcelona ace, Lionel Messi, who has given the former Manchester United golden boy a run for his accolades, winning six Balon D’or titles against Ronaldo’s five.

Despite winning one less Balon D’or accolade than his eternal rival, many football fans all over the world have continued to root for Ronaldo as the greatest football player of all time, and his record-breaking feat against Udinese has significantly substantiated the claim by his legions of fans who have taken to social media to hail the former Galactico as the greatest of all time.
