‘IT IS FINISHED’ – Twitter Reacts to Outcome of Champions League and Europa League Quarter-Final Draw

  • Bayern Munich face PSG in a repeat of the Champions League final last year
  • Real Madrid tackle Liverpool in a repeat of the 2018 final
  • Manchester United and Arsenal could potentially face off in the Europa League final

The draws of the Uefa Champions League and Europa League quarter-final have been concluded and it wasn’t devoid of any shocks, with the Twitter world reacting to the outcome.

In the Champions League, the standout fixtures are Bayern Munich taking on Paris Saint-Germain in a repeat of last season’s final which the German giants won 2-1.

The other standout fixture is Real Madrid coming up against Liverpool which is a repeat of the 2018 final in Kyiv which Los Blancos won 3-1.

The other Champions League last eight fixtures are between Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund and FC Porto taking on Chelsea,” EKO HOT BLOG gathered.

Real Madrid Liverpool 2018 Champions League final

The winner of the Bayern PSG match will tackle either Man City or Dortmund in the semis while it’s a potential for Chelsea to either meet Liverpool or Real Madrid should they get past Porto which is expected.

There won’t be any pushovers though as Porto dispatched Juventus in the previous round, denying Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo the chance to lift a fifth Champions League crown.

In the Europa League quarter-final draw, Manchester United, who got the better of AC Milan, take on Granada while Arsenal will tackle Dynamo Zagreb, who did the unlikeliest of things in kicking out Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur.

The quarter-final fixtures will see Ajax Amsterdam up against Roma while it’s Villarreal up against Dynamo Zagreb.

The winner of the Man United’s tie will play either Ajax or Roma in the semis while the outcome of Arsenal’s match will bring forth either Villarreal or Dynamo Zagreb, giving coach Unai Emery the chance to face his former team.

The bigger news though is the potential of an all-English final between United and Arsenal which will certainly be huge for TV viewing.

The Champions League quarter-finals are slated for April 6, 7, 13 and 14 while it’s April 8 and 15 for the Europa League.

Below are some of the reactions to the draw in both European competitions.
