Two Arraigned in Port Harcourt for Spreading False Information

Two individuals, Menwe Nnamdi James, 38, and Ekele Okorogba, 40, have been arraigned in a Port Harcourt court for allegedly spreading false information about the death of a motorcyclist.

The case relates to the recent killing of a commercial motorcyclist in Ahoada, Bayelsa State.

The Rivers State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) has charged the defendants with misinformation about the murder of Godstime Innocent, a motorcyclist, on November 17, 2024, in Ahoada.

They allegedly falsely accused Hector Ekeakita Chinenye, the PRO of Igbu-Akoh Youth Congress, of being responsible for the killing.

The defendants pleaded not guilty to the two charges. Senior Magistrate Wobia C. Akani granted them bail of N500,000 each with a surety. The case was adjourned to January 21, 2025, for hearing.
