The cows were intended for the church’s upcoming annual adult harvest Thanksgiving celebration.
The theft took place on November 11, just days before the celebration was set to occur on November 17.
The church shared the news on its official Facebook page, revealing that the cows, which had been specifically purchased for the event, were taken from the church premises.

Despite efforts to locate the stolen animals, the church has not been successful and is now appealing to its congregation and well-wishers for help.
The church posted: “Dear Celestians and the General Public, Two huge cows were stolen from where they were tied within the church premises at CCC Testimony Parish, Elerumoke Area, Egbeda, Iyana Ajia.
These cows were meant for slaughter for the 9th adult harvest Thanksgiving scheduled for this Sunday, November 17, 2024.
“We are kindly asking for your prayers for the quick recovery of these sacrificial materials for our harvest Thanksgiving.
“Anyone with useful information or who can offer assistance to make this celebration a success is urged to contact the parish shepherd.”
