Two Decades of Royalty: Ejinrin Felicitates Oba Balogun on Coronation Anniversary

Plans are underway for the 20th Coronation Anniversary and Birthday of His Royal Majesty, Oba Rafiu Ishola Babatunde Balogun (Adetoyese Ejalonibu II), in Ejinrin Kingdom, Epe

Ekohotblog gathers that for the event, series of programs have been lined up from January 5 to January 12, 2025.

The celebrations has already begun on Sunday, January 5, 2025, with a Thanksgiving Service at the Celestial Church of Christ, Ejinrin, where community members, religious leaders and family members gathered to offer prayers of gratitude for Oba Balogun’s two decades of remarkable leadership.

January 6 and 7, are designated as Traditional Days, during which cultural and spiritual rites will be performed for the peace and progress of Ejinrin Kingdom.

These ceremonies will involve the traditional council and chiefs, ensuring the preservation of the kingdom’s rich heritage.

One of the High Chiefs spoke on the importance of the rites.
His words state: “These rituals are central to our heritage.

They bind us to our ancestors and pave the way for continuous blessings for the land.”

In continuation of the programme, January 8 will see the entire community benefit from a Free Medical Outreach, organized to provide residents with free consultations, treatments, and medications.

One of the medical personnel said “This outreach demonstrates the Kabiyesi’s love for his people and his commitment to ensuring their well-being.

We look forward to attending to as many residents as possible.”

On January 9, distinguished individuals who have made significant contributions to the kingdom’s development will be honored with the conferment of honorary Chieftaincy titles.

Kabiyesi noted, “This is our way of appreciating the contributions of key individuals who have supported the growth and progress of Ejinrin Kingdom.”

The events will continue with a Jumat Service on Friday, January 10, at Ejinrin Central Mosque, followed by a Community Event on Saturday, January 11, which will highlight the unity and cultural vibrancy of Ejinrin.

The grand finale on Sunday, January 12, promises to be a spectacular occasion.

The event, set to hold in front of the Oba’s palace, will host high-profile guests, including the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, as the Guest of Honour, and Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, as the Special Guest of Honour.

HRM Oba Rilwan Babatunde Akiolu, the Oba of Lagos, will serve as the Royal Father of the Day, while Chief Akin Disu, the Aare Agbaakin of Ejinrin Kingdom, will chair the event.

Musical entertainment will be provided by King (Dr.) Saheed Osupa and Princess Folake & Her African Rhythm Band, ensuring an atmosphere of celebration and joy for all attendees.
