Two Feared Dead In Pile-Up On Lagos-Ibadan Expressway
- Two persons have been feared dead in a pile-up on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
EKOHOTBLOG reports that the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Command, says two people lost their lives in a three-vehicle pile-up around AP Petrol Station on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Saturday.
The Ogun State Sector Commander of FRSC, Mr. Ahmed Umar, made this known while speaking to newsmen in Ota on Saturday.
Speaking, Umar further disclosed that one other person sustained injuries in the accident.
He added that the accident, which involved five people and three vehicles, occurred at about 6.40 am on Saturday.
The FRSC Commander further stated that one of the vehicles got trapped in a heap of granite spilled on a section of the road by a truck, adding that two other vehicles ran into the trapped vehicle, which led to multiple collisions.

Umar disclosed that the vehicles involved in the accident were a grey Volkswagen car with registration number GWA 114 BC, a silver Hyundai Sonata car, marked RBC 108 AE, and a grey Mercedes Benz car marked BDG 757 GF.
He added that the corpses of the victims had been deposited at Idera Hospital, Sagamu, while the survivor has been receiving treatment in the same hospital.
The FRSC Commander, who blamed the accident on over-speeding, enjoined motorists to refrain from the act and always exercise patience to avert road accidents.
