EKO HOT BLOG reports that on Saturday, a dramatic rescue unfolded in Lebanon, Connecticut, as two horses found themselves trapped in the mud for several hours.
Fortunately, dozens of people sprang into action to free the distressed animals.
Initially, firefighters received a call about the horses stuck in a swampy area behind a farm at approximately 2 p.m., as reported by the Lebanon Volunteer Fire Department on Facebook.
Subsequently, fire officials orchestrated a massive response effort, shuttling in a multitude of vehicles and mobilizing 40 individuals equipped with essential tools such as ropes, wood, saws, plywood, rescue equipment, veterinary supplies, food, and water.
As the situation unfolded, responders cleared a roadway and established a makeshift bridge, paving the way for a successful rescue operation.
However, upon the arrival of the Durham Animal Response Team, the horses were carefully rolled out of the waist-deep mud onto a sled device, marking the culmination of a five-hour ordeal.
Fortunately, the animals emerged unscathed, thanks to the tireless efforts of the rescue team and the swift response of the community.
Ultimately, this remarkable rescue served as a testament to the power of collaboration and compassion.
