‘Two Lawmakers Die Of COVID-19’

Two lawmakers in the island nation of Madagascar have died of the dreadful COVID-19 infection.

The country’s president, Andry Rajoelina, announced the demise of the legislators on Monday.

Rajoelina identified the deceased politicians as Senate and one deputy.

The deaths are precursor to the renewed surge in COVID-19 cases after 11 other deputies and 14 senators tested positive to the virulent virus.

Madagascar has been the most vociferous and active in Africa when it comes to searching for a cure for the deadly virus out.

You recall that Nigeria has also received a shipment of Madagascar’s COVID-Organics herbal cure.

The potential benefits of COVID-Organics, a tonic made from artemisia — a plant with proven potency in malaria treatment — and other indigenous herbs, have not been validated by any scientific study.

Rajoelina on July 5 placed its capital Antananarivo under a fresh lockdown following a fresh spike in infections, two months after the restrictions were relaxed.

It has recorded 2,573 infections including 35 deaths with the government estimating that the peak will not be reached until the end of August.
