Several dressing room sources have confirmed that Sunday’s 5-0 capitulation to Liverpool at Old Trafford has fueled a lack of belief in Solskjaer being a good enough manager for United. The 48-year-old is considered tactically underwhelming, while being well-liked by the squad and within the wider club.
United are thought to be seriously considering Solskjaer’s future after taking one point from their past four Premier League games.
On Monday, senior officials at Old Trafford were locked in talks to consider their options in moving the club forward.
Out-of-job duo, Zinedine Zidane and Antonio Conte are believed to be leading the race to replace Solskjaer.
However, Ten Hag’s Ajax are in incredible form and are cruising towards the last 16 of the Champions League and another Eredivisie title.
Enrique on the other hand, won the treble in his first season at Barcelona, adding another La Liga title to his credits with a front three of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar.
Fluent in English, Luis Enrique has never hidden his desire to one day coach in the Premier League.
