Men Rape Neighbour’s Daughter In Katsina

A 35-year-old man, Ismail Abdulmumini, and his 20-year-old accomplice, Sani Haruna, who lured their neighbour’s 10-year-old daughter into an uncompleted building to molest her will appear before a Katsina Senior Magistrates’ Court on July 8, 2019.

The suspects, of the Tundun Ali Quarter, Dandume, Katsina State, will answer to charges of criminal conspiracy and rape levelled against them.

The case was slated for mention on that day when they were first arraigned before the court presided over by Hajiya Fadile Dikko.

The police had charged the two men based on their confession that they molested their neighbour’s 10-year-old daughter.

The police said the offence was contrary to provisions of sections 97 and 283 of the Penal Code Law.

The accused persons were subsequently ordered to be remanded in the Katsina Prison by Dikko.

According to the police, the father of the victim, Isah Abdullahi, reported the incident at the Dandume Police Station on May 17, 2019, a day after the suspects were said to have been caught molesting the victim.

It was alleged that the accused persons lured the victim into a nearby uncompleted building where they pounced on her and molested her.

The suspects reportedly confessed to the crime during police interrogation.

The police prosecutor, Sergeant Lawal Bello, said investigation into the case was in progress, leading the magistrate to adjourn the case till July 8, 2019, for further mention.
