Two Suffer Severe Burns As Fire Razes Storey Building In Lagos

Eko Hot Blog reports that two men have suffered varying degrees of burns after fire razed a building at Victory Bay, Ikota Housing Estate, Ajah, Lagos State.

The incident happened in the early hours of Tuesday.

A statement issued by the Director, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Mrs. Margaret Adeseye, revealed that the service rescued the male adults from the affected storey building.

While the fire service crew rescued the victims alive, they suffered severe burns.

Adeseye also disclosed that the victims have transferred to a hospital for treatment.

“The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service had rescued two male adults from a fire outbreak which happened at Victory Bay, Ikota Housing Estate, Ajah, Lagos on Tuesday 19th September,  2023,” the statement reads.

“Emergency alert was received at 04:10 hours.

“The incident  involved a shanty storey building consisting of 4 rooms on each floor within the precinct of the estate.

“On arrival of the Lekki Phase II Fire Station crew, the victims  were rescued alive with varying of burns.

“The victims were attended to by other emergency responders  before taken to hospital for further treatment.”
