UCL Q-Final: Real Madrid ‘Destroys’ Liverpool, Man City Edge Dortmund

  • The first section of champions league football has been played already
  • For fans of Liverpool, it was a night to forget as Real Madrid outplayed, and outclassed Liverpool in all areas of the game.
  • The second game ended in favour of Manchester City, but the game is still far from over as Dortmund were able to snatch a vital away goal in that fixture.

Foden Hands Man City Late Advantage Against Dortmund

Phil Foden struck a 90th minute winner as Man  City took a slender 2-1 lead from the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday.

Foden had missed a series of chances to double City’s lead earlier in the second-half, but made amends at the death to give Pep Guardiola’s men the advantage with the second leg to come in Germany on April 14.

But despite the England league topper’s win at their stadium, there was a lot of controversy in the first-half of the game, which could have changed the surface of the encounter.

It all happened in the 36th minute of the game, when a poor back pass from a Manchester city player to Ederson, who controlled the ball but was dispossessed by Jude Bellingham, which the midfielder moved forward with the ball before slotting it into the net.

But the center referee wasted no time to blow his whistle for a foul on Ederson and went ahead to give Bellingham a yellow card.

Real Madrid Destroys Liverpool With A 3-1 Lead

Real Madrid have taken a huge step towards booking a place in the semifinals of the Champions League after seeing off Liverpool in the first leg of their last eight fixture played on the evening of Tuesday, April 6, at Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium.

Vinicius Junior opened the goal scoring in the 27 minutes of the game after converting a brilliant long pass that crossed all Liverpool’s defenders to give the Brazilian International a chance to meet Alison Becker in a face to face situation before converting the ball into the far corner of the post.

Marco Asensio’s sensational goal in the 36th minutes of the game gave the Spanish giant a 2:0 first half Victory against Jorgen Klopp’s team.

Liverpool started the second half of the game very well before Mohamed Salah scored in the 51 minutes of the game to put his team back to the match.

Vinicius Junior converted a mistake from Liverpool’s defender Alexander Arnold to scored his second and the last goal of the match in the 65th minutes of the match.

Liverpool now face a mountainous task of overturning the scoreline during the second leg for a chance to reach the semis, EKO HOT BLOG gathered.
