UEFA Nations League: Ronaldo Makes History As Portugal Beat Croatia

Cristiano Ronaldo made history by becoming the first player to score 900 top-level career goals as Portugal began their Nations League campaign with a win over Croatia.

The 39-year-old netted his 131st goal for Portugal in the 34th minute, volleying in from the edge of the six-yard box off a deep cross from Nuno Mendes. This milestone came 20 years after Ronaldo’s first international goal, prompting an emotional celebration as he sank to his knees.

Earlier, Manchester United full-back Diogo Dalot had opened the scoring for Portugal but later scored an own goal, allowing Croatia to pull one back before halftime.

Ronaldo’s remarkable goal tally includes his time with Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, and most recently, Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia.
