EKO HOT BLOG reports that the updated rankings, released on UEFA’s official website, place Real Madrid at the summit, followed by English champions Manchester City and German giants Bayern Munich in second and third places, respectively.
The UEFA coefficient rankings are calculated based on club performances in European tournaments over the past five seasons, including the UEFA Champions League, Europa League, and the Conference League. Real Madrid’s sustained success, including multiple deep runs and recent silverware, has kept them ahead of other elite clubs across Europe.
English teams experienced varying fortunes in the latest update. Chelsea and Arsenal moved up the rankings, as did Manchester United, while Liverpool held firm among the top five. Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), the dominant French champions, also rose in the standings, securing fifth place.
Italian sides Inter Milan, Roma, and Juventus maintained strong showings within the top 25, while Barcelona’s slip to 10th position highlighted a recent downturn in European performance for the Catalan club, which once topped the list regularly.
Manchester United and Arsenal, both striving to reclaim former European glories, sit just outside the top 10 in 11th and 12th places, respectively.
Other clubs featured in the top 25 include Bayer Leverkusen (13th), Atletico Madrid (14th), and Portuguese side Benfica (15th). Notably, Scottish club Rangers claimed the final spot on the list at 25th, marking a significant achievement in their recent European campaigns.
The UEFA coefficient rankings play a crucial role in determining club seedings for European competitions. Higher-ranked teams receive better placements in tournament draws, providing a potential advantage in both the group stages and knockout rounds.
