Ugandan Presidential Candidate, Bobi Wine Re-arrested

One of the opposition candidates for Uganda’s presidency, Bobi Wine has been re-arrested with his campaign team in Kalangala, the country’s central region.

The 38-year-old pop star cum politician who raised awareness this Wednesday, December 30, 2020, via his verified Twitter account said “Bobi Wine and his whole campaign crew was arrested in Kalangala! Media blocked.”

EKO HOT BLOG  gathered that Bobi Wine’s arrest comes within days of the Wine’s announcement of the “murder” of a member of his security team, Francis Senteza Kalibala.

Wine who is a Member of Parliament representing Kyadondo County East constituency alleged that Kalibala got crushed by a “military-police truck.”

He posted on his Twitter page, “I regret to inform you that a member of my security team has been murdered, Francis Senteza Kalibala aka Frank”

“He was hit by the military police truck., No. H4DF 2382 which blocked us in Busega on our way to Rubaga to get Kasirye Ashraf emergency medical attention.”

During an interview with Christine Amanpour of CNN, several weeks ago, The wine opened on the challenges that his presidential ambition had to overcome.

Wine who is running against incumbent President Yoweri Museveni said he faced attempted murder, and he was not allowed to exercise his rights as a citizen.

Wine also stated that there is no equal opportunity for the upcoming elections in Uganda.

Wine said, I managed to survive two murder attempts in two weeks where bullets have been shot in my car and on the tyres and the windscreens.”

He added, “This is the terrain that President Museveni refers to as the level.”
