EKO HOT BLOG reports that the University of Ibadan (UI), in Oyo State, has announced a ban on all unauthorised visitors and travellers coming to the institution.

The Registrar of the institution, Olubunmi Faluyi, made this known in a statement on Saturday.

The UI Registrar stated that the latest development became necessary following the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria.

Faluyi, who enjoined students against accommodating squatters, urged members of the institution to report violators of health safety protocols to appropriate authorities.

The UI Registrar said, “Management has noted the third wave of COVID-19 pandemic, the recently discovered Delta variant and the placement of some states (including Oyo State) on red alert by the Federal Government.
