Eko Hot Blog reports that the UK economy flatlined in April, according to preliminary data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
This comes after a 0.4 per cent uptick in March.

Economists surveyed by Reuters had predicted this stagnation, attributing it to unusually wet weather that hindered retail sales and construction activity.
The ONS report, the last GDP update before the forthcoming election, highlighted that April saw 155 per cent more rainfall than the long-term average.
