EKO HOT BLOG reports that the UK Metropolitan Police Service has set up a tribunal to probe misconduct by one of its officers and former Big Brother Naija housemate, Khafi Kareem.
Khafi, a Police Constable at the UK Met Police, had appeared on the show as she wanted to “promote the Met Police” globally.
The BBC reports that Khafi admitted during the hearing that she took and surrendered her laptop to organisers of the reality TV show.
The former reality TV star’s bosses however said she appeared on the programme “without authority”, adding that it was not within the best interests of the officer or the force.
But she denied allegations of breaching standards in respect of “orders and instructions” and “discreditable conduct”.
She also denied an allegation she failed to declare a business interest in relation to publicity and promotion of the TV show.
The tribunal also heard that even though she asked for unpaid leave in 2019 to appear on the show, she was told not to take part in any further auditions, interviews or shows.
