UNILAG Makes History with 18 All-Female First-Class Graduates

In an unprecedented achievement, the Department of Mass Communication at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) produced 18 all-female first-class graduates during the 2023/2024 academic session.

Eko Hot Blog reliably gathered that these remarkable feat was announced at the university’s 55th Convocation Ceremony, where a total of 16,590 students received first degrees and diplomas over a three-day event.

A significant milestone as 9,865 students obtained first degrees and diplomas, while 6,659 were awarded postgraduate degrees during the 2023/2024 academic session.

In addition, 66 students graduated from the UNILAG Business School (ULBS), further contributing to the institution’s record of academic excellence.

 

Amidst this impressive cohort, the Mass Communication Department’s all-female first-class graduates have captured the attention and admiration of both the academic community and the public.

This outstanding feat not only showcases the academic excellence of these female students but also highlights UNILAG’s commitment to nurturing an environment that supports and empowers female scholars to reach their full potential.

The 18 outstanding first-class graduates include Feranmi Abiola, Ahuruele Akani, Oyindamola Arikawe, Ifedayo Ayilaran, Demiladeogo Bankole, Olaide Bankole, Eniola Daramola, Faith Enang, Temiloluwa Igbinlade, Joy Imanah, Ifeoma Iwelunmor, Chelsea Jegede, Opeyemi Kareem, Eunice Obidi, Frances Odogu, Mofesola Olanrewaju, Funmilola Onabanjo, and Peace Onuoha.
