BREAKING: Unknown Cause Sparks Fire At Kano Polytechnic, Extensive Damage Reported

  • A fire destroyed the Arts and Industrial Department at Kano State Polytechnic’s School of Technology on Tuesday morning.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that a fire broke out on Tuesday morning, destroying a building within the School of Technology at Kano State Polytechnic. This online media platform learned that the blaze completely consumed the Arts and Industrial Department of the polytechnic early in the morning.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, stated that the cause of the fire is still unknown. He also mentioned that the extent of the damage is currently under investigation.

This incident follows a recent fire last weekend that destroyed several properties at a soap factory and plastic waste dump site on Amanato Street, Ugwagba Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State. The cause of that fire, which started around 1 am on Saturday, is also unknown.

An eyewitness mentioned that the fire started in one corner of the building, prompting the immediate alert of the firefighters.

Despite some damage to properties, the state fire service managed to control the fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby structures.
