EKO HOT BLOG reports that Unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers in the early hours of Monday abducted the biological mother of a frontline Kano senatorial aspirant, AbdulSalam Abdulkarim Zaura.
Security sources alleged that Hajia Laure Mai Kunu was picked at her residence in Rangaza ward of Zaura village of Kumbotso local government area of Kano metropolis.
SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, Kano police public Relations Officer told the INDEPENDENT that the incident occurred around 1:30 am on Monday.
Haruna Kiyawa disclosed that the police have launched a massive manhunt to rescue, and arrest the assailants.
He, therefore, appealed for calm and that the Kano police Command is on top of the situation, as he assured that the aged woman would be rescued unhurt.

Also, Engr. Abdullahi Garba Ramat, Chairman, Ungogo local government area confirmed the incident to newsmen in Kano
Engr. Ramat said the security agents have informed him officially about the incident, adding that efforts are ongoing to rescue the aged woman.
