Unknown Gunmen Kill Pregnant Woman, Kidnap Husband In Kwara

• Unknown gunmen have killed a pregnant woman and kidnapped her husband in Kwara State.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that unknown gunmen have shot a pregnant woman dead and kidnapped her husband in Offa Local Government Area of Kwara State.

It was gathered that the late woman identified as Hawa was the wife of Lukman Ibrahim, a phone and accessories dealer in Owode Market popularly known as “LUKTECH”.

EKO HOT BLOG learnt that the incident occurred on Saturday night when Lukman was driving his father-in-law, his pregnant wife, and their child home along Ojoku road, very close to the Divisional Police Headquarters in Kwara State.

The wife, it was gathered, died on the spot after she was shot by the unknown gunmen.

She has since been buried according to Islamic rites.

A source close to the family further disclosed that “the deceased operated a chemist shop at Oshunte, along Ibrahim Taiwo Road, Offa”.

The source added, “The kidnapped husband was driving the family home when less than two minutes drive to the Divisional Police Headquarters along Ojoku road, seven gunmen suspected to be Fulanis attacked them and shot the wife before whisking the husband away,” the source disclosed.

As of the time of writing this report, it was, however, not clear the circumstances that warranted the killing of the wife while the father-in-law and the child were spared by the gunmen.

As gathered by EKO HOT BLOG, the tragic incident was confirmed by the Kwara State Police Public Relations Officer, Ajayi Okasanmi.

“The command is working hard to get the kidnapped victim rescued,” the police spokesperson said.
