EKO HOT BLOG reports that unknown gunmen on Saturday morning killed a lawmaker in Song Local Government Council of Adamawa, Ishaya Bakano.
It was reported that the gunmen invaded the residence of the lawmaker in his hometown, Bannga, shoot his son and whisked him away before killing him few hours after he was abducted.
The incident was confirmed by the spokesman of the State police command, Suleiman Nguroje.
Nguroje noted that security agencies are all out to apprehend the perpetrators, adding that the Police are investigating the killing.
The lawmaker until his death the deputy leader of Song Local Government Council.
He represented Gudu Mboi Ward in the Council.
There are speculations that the incident might be a case of assassination.
The son of the lawmaker who was shot during the attack is receiving treatment at a hospital.
Gunmen in the past few weeks have attacked several residents and killed some.
Bakano’s murder is coming after gunmen killed a lecturer at the Adamawa state polytechnic in his residence in Girei Local Government of Adamawa State.
