EKO HOT BLOG reports that unknown gunmen have shot dead a lecturer at the University of Benin (UNIBEN), Maxwell Eseosa Aimuen.
It was gathered that the 33-year-old lecturer in the Department of Public Administration was killed on Saturday at his residence in Isihor, Benin City, the Edo State capital.
The tragic incident has, however, been confirmed by UNIBEN Spokesperson, Dr. Benedicta Ehanire.
According to the university Spokesperson, Aimuen was a Lecturer II until his death.

He noted that the 33-year-old lecturer was shot dead by the gunmen last Saturday when he was driving into his residence in Isihor axis of the city.
EKO HOT BLOG further gathered that the gunmen shot the deceased severally before fleeing the scene without removing anything from his vehicle.
The UNIBEN Spokesperson described the late lecturer as a hardworking and dedicated staff.
He, therefore, called on security agents to unravel those behind the murder of the lecturer.
The Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bello Kontongs, could not be reached for comment as of the time of writing this report.
