UPDATED: Pandemonium As Fuel Laden Tanker Explodes In Lagos
There was palpable apprehension on Sunday morning after a tanker exploded at the Kara axis of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
EkoHotBlog learnt that the incident happened shortly after midnight, with a lot of vehicles stuck on the bridge as a result of the curfew imposed to curtail the spread of the virulent coronavirus.
Recall that the federal government had ordered a nationwide curfew from 10pm to 4am and vehicles that are unable to make it to Lagos or leave the nation’s commercial capital before 10pm are usually stranded on the bridge till 6am when security operatives open the road to traffic.
Eyewitness disclosed that the fire followed a heavy reverberating bang.
Some residents of Magodo, Berger, and Ojodu took to social media to narrate the incident. They said the could see billow of smoke wafting into the air from afar.
If you're on your way towards Kara Bridge or Berger, it's better you reconsider that move now.

Meanwhile, firefighters have been battling to put out the inferno. At 2:01am, the Federal Fire Service pleaded that there should be no vehicular movement around the area.
“Kara Bridge Fire, men of the Federal Fire Service are already at the scene. Please vehicular movements should be halted around the area,” the tweet
