Uplift, Support Your Alma Mater, TASUED VC Charges Alumni Associations At NUDGOSA Convention

Eko Hot Blog reports that the Vice-Chancellor of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Prof. O. S. Banjo, has called on alumni associations across Nigeria to ensure continuous support in uplifting their alma mater.

Prof. Banjo spoke recently as the Guest Lecturer at the 2023 National Convention of the Nawair Ud Deen Grammar School Old Students Association (NUDGOSA) held in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

At the event, where the old students of Nawair Ud Deen Grammar School reaffirmed their commitment to the institution’s development, the TASUED VC gave an impassioned speech, highlighting pivotal role of alumni associations in the advancement of educational institutions.

Prof. Banjo emphasized the crucial need for sustained support and nurturing of educational institutions.

“Alumni associations are the lifelines that breathe vitality into educational institution,” the university VC stated.

Professor Banjo further stressed the importance of alumni networks in aiding current students, citing how alumni support enhances employability through mentorship, scholarships, and career guidance.

He further highlighted areas where alumni can support their alma mater, including infrastructural development, provision of essential tools, support for teachers and administrators, and crucial funding initiatives.

“Old students’ associations are not merely nostalgic gatherings; they are powerhouses capable of revitalizing and projecting their alma mater to greater heights,” the TASUED VC affirmed.

Prof. Banjo underscored the reciprocal benefits for alumni members, including inspiration, financial support avenues, and opportunities for personal growth and networking.

In his closing remarks, he fervently recommended active participation in alumni associations, urging former students to engage and assist one another for mutual growth.
