US Election: Man Arrested For Using Dead Mother’s Ballot To Vote For Trump

Authorities in the state of Delaware in the United States say they have apprehended a man who falsified electoral documents during the last election presidential election.

The culprit, Bruce Bartman, a Republican, was arrested for allegedly using his dead mother’s ballot to vote for President Donald Trump, authorities said in a statement.

According to prosecutors, Bartman, 70, whose actions undermine the electoral processes, registered two deceased — his mother and mother-in-law – as Republican voters in the buildup to the election.

Ekohotblog understands that Bartman has now been charged with unlawful voting and perjury for allegedly impersonating his dead mother while voting in the November election in Pennsylvania.

Prosecutors said he capitalised on the easy and smooth registration processes put in place by the state to perpetrate the fraud.

He used the state’s online portal which allows residents to register to vote using either their driver’s license number or social security number, prosecutors disclosed.

In a statement, Jack Stollsteimer, Delaware county district attorney, said the indictment “is the only known case of a “dead person” voting in the county amid confounding conspiracy theories.

He noted that swift prosecution of this case was an indication that law enforcement ahbors electoral fraud in whatever guise and would continue to uphold country’s election laws “whenever presented with actual evidence of fraud and that we will continue to investigate every allegation that that comes our way,” he added.

Candidate of the Democratic Party Joe Biden had defeated the incumbent and republican candidate, Donald Trump, in the November presidential election.

But the outcome of  the poll has been mired in controversy, conjectures and conspiracy theories as Trump and his party alleged fraud and irregularities.

A development that has prompted them to institute many legal actions across the country to challenge the result of the election.

They averred, among other things, that many ballots belonging to dead persons were counted in favour of Biden.

However, many of the suits have been dismissed for lacking in merit.

Officials have, however, said the electoral fraud recorded in the election is not enough to reverse Biden’s victory.
