An unidentified woman who was shot during the siège on of the US congress on Wednesday has passed on.
Thousands of protesters breached the Capitol police and invaded the premises of the legislative complex disrupting congress’ debate on certification of Biden’s victory.
They marched to the building not long after they were addressed by Trump who has constantly questioned the legitimacy of the November presidential election and has refused to concede after losing to Biden.
The lawmakers were expected to count and confirm the votes cast by state electors during the just concluded US election.
The invasion of the congress precinct came after Vice president, Mike Pence rebuffed Trump’s attempt to thwart the certification process using him.

Trump had on Wednesday said Pence had the power to reject fraudulently chosen elector, a move that would see the ratification of Biden’s victory withheld.
but Pence, who is the head of the US senate, said he would go with the constitution as he could not subvert the will of the people, a statement that impeded Trump’s final attempt to overturn the November poll..
Trump, who later said his deputy lacked the courage to “do what is right”, engoined his supporters to march to the Capitol Hill.
The action of the president’s supporters had disrupted the certification process as Pence was moved to safety while other lawmakers took cover.
The protesters laid siege to the parliament for hours while the authorities declared a curfew.
