EKO HOT BLOG reports that from November 24, 2021, the United States will increase its operations in Nigeria to better serve the country’s student population.
Students who need to renew their student visas to continue their studies will be targeted, as will a series of specialized interview days for prospective new students.
The process for new student visa applications was detailed in a statement released by the US Consulate General on Friday.
If an applicant is seeking an F1 visa appointment and has not been denied an F1 visa in the previous six months, he or she is eligible for a priority interview date.
The prospective students were asked to submit their documents as soon as possible to take advantage of the limited opportunity.
In Abuja, student surge days will take place on December 8, December 15, and January 12 on a first-come, first-served basis.
Applicants are to visit www.ustraveldocs.com/ng and review the criteria and instructions. To request an emergency interview, the following are required:
A completed DS-160, an approved I-20, a receipt for I-901 SEVIS fee, a GTBank (MRV) receipt for visa fee, a scan of the biopage of current valid passport, a scan of passport photograph meeting these requirements

They must, however, be renewing a valid student visa that hasn’t expired in the last 24 months.
Those eligible are either renewing their participation in the same major course of study, even if at a different university, or enrolling in the same major course of study, even if in a different institution.
