US Flight From China Rerouted to Military Base Because of Coronavirus

A US government flight carrying American consulate staffers and private U.S. citizens from Wuhan, China has been rerouted from its initial California destination to a nearby military base.

The flight that’s reportedly carrying over 200 people was supposed to land in Ontario, California, but was rerouted to the March Air Reserve Base in Riverside County, California.

The change was effected by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention to guard against the infiltration of the deadly Coronavirus.

A U.S State Department official also revealed that passengers were screened before they boarded the flight and would be quarantined for at least three days in the military base. Those who show no symptoms after three days will be allowed to leave while those with any symptoms identified with the virus may be detained for up to 14 days.

The U.S Consulate general has also asked citizens of the United States not to travel to the Hubei province to avoid the deadly virus.
