Eko Hot Blog reports that The Former Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Hadiza Bala Usman, has narrated the main reason why she fell out with the Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.
According to Hadiza Bala Usman, the issue surrounding the extension of an expired contract was what led to the problems she had with Rotimi Amaechi.

In a recent interview, Hadiza Bala Usman told journalists that some contractors that provides services to government agencies and at intervals, they come to the ports authority for an extension of the contracts.
Hadiza Bala Usman disclosed that there was a contractor that was in contract with a government agency from 1997 to 2022 and when the contest expired, Rotimi Amaechi came to her and asked her to extend the contract without it going through the public tender process.
Hadiza Bala Usman said that she could not understand why Rotimi Amaechi wanted her to extend the contract without following due process. She said that if Rotimi Amaechi knew that the company was qualified, then there was no reason for Rotimi Amaechi to be afraid to the extent that he did not want the company to go through the public tender process.
Hadiza Bala Usman said that when she refused to do as Rotimi Amaechi had directed, he started saying that she was being disrespectful to him.
