EkoHotBlog reports that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has declared the result of a student from Anambra State, Ejikeme Mmesoma who claimed to have scored 362 in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) as fake.
JAMB in a statement on Sunday disclosed that her real score is 249 but she used software to manually manipulate her results.
Although the Anambra student has been awarded a N3 million scholarship from Innoson Motors and was set to be honored by the Anambra State government before she was exposed.
As a punishment for her actions, JAMB announced that the result of the student would be withdrawn and she would be prosecuted.
In a similar development, JAMB further disclosed that it has taken action on the case of another fraudulent candidate from Kaduna State who claimed to have scored a 380 aggregate score in the last UTME.
Upon investigation when his ethnic group demanded special recognition for him, JAMB said the student identified as Atung Gerald never sat for the 2023 UTME.
JAMB also confirmed its decision to withdraw the fake results and prosecute the students involved in such practices.
