Job Title: College Librarian
Location: Gindiri, Plateau.
Duties
- Shall be responsible for formulating the overall Library Policy;
- Making personal contacts and liaising with Departments;
- Preparing library booklets and engaging in other matters of common interest for the benefit of the College Library and the institution at large.
- Shall be responsible to the Provost for the smooth running of the College Library.
Qualification and Experience
- Candidate should be a holder of Master’s or Ph.D Degree. in Library Science or Library and Information Science from a recognized University, plus at least 14 years cognate experience in Tertiary Institution.
- He/she should be a registered member with a professional body, and should be computer literate. Having attained the rank of Deputy
- Librarian in a Tertiary Institution is an added advantage.
- Candidate should not be more than 59 years of age.
Terms of Appointment and other Conditions of Service
- The salary is CONSOLIDATED and other conditions of service shall be as stipulated in the Scheme of Service or Conditions of Service of the Institution or as applicable in other similar Colleges; entry point shall be dependent on cognate experience.
- Other fringe benefits shall be as applicable to this post in other Institutions, or current Government circulars.
- Tenure of office shall be for a period of five (5) years at the first instance and may be renewed thereafter for a second term of five (5) years and more.
